On 19 November, Cepi will organise a one day workshop on non-wood fibre use in the paper industry, at ICP’s (Institute for Cellulose and Paper) premises in Ljubljana. Several non-wood fibre initiatives in our sector will be presented as well as the database on non-wood fibre characteristics for papermaking prepared by ICP for Cepi.
We’d appreciate if you could share this invitation with your colleagues, members and network.
Paper products made from non-wood fibres are receiving growing attention. In 2022, the nova-Institute concluded in a study for Cepi that there was an increasing interest in our sector in the use of materials such as straw, flax and hemp, and textile waste.
The reasons for this vary, among them is a need for a stronger diversification of the raw material base for the circular bioeconomy and an increased availability of fibre.
At the workshop we will exchange experiences and identify the needs for this sector in terms of knowledge sharing and promotion.
