Fit for 55: What does it take to become a front-runner?
Rewarding the leaders of industrial transformation
21 April 2022
14:00 – 15:00 CET
The EU needs thriving industry to reach the climate neutrality goal by 2050. The renewable value-chains grounded in European economy continue delivering carbon reductions. But due to the dramatically changing circumstances, sustainable “made in Europe” industries need to simultaneously recover from the pandemic and to endure extremely high energy costs. We ask the speakers to explore what policy tools in the “Fit for 55” package can reward the industrial transformation. From manufacturing of bio-based products to using renewable energy in the production to decarbonising heat generation, the European industries are at the forefront of implementing innovative solutions. How can the EU policy reward them?
