CEPI partnered this year’s Recycling & Waste Management Exhibition & Conference taking place in Birmingham, UK on 11 and 12 September to promote the new guidance on separate collection.
The new leaflet gives an overview how different paper and board products should be collected and if necessary, sorted in order to be recycled by the paper industry. It also gives the action points to municipalities to help moving away from commingled collection.
CEPI presented the European paper industry’s track record in recycling and contribution to the circular economy, as well as the challenges and its proposals for further improvement at the RWM conference. Exhibition participants were numerous to visit the CEPI booth and learn about the paper CEPI’s position on separate collection. We gave a talk about the developments in paper packaging recyclability and the need for separate collection as a pre-requisite.
