“The European paper industry plays a fundamental role in the wider Forest-based industry (FBI), contributing to the development and maintenance of healthy forests in Europe that grow every year in an area equal to 1.5 million football fields, equivalent to 850,000 ha. The FBI has more than 420,000 companies in Europe (20% of the manufacturing sector, 1 company out of 5) that employ 3.5 million direct employees qnd equals 10% of employment in the manufacturing sector”, stated Cepi Chairman Ignazio Capuano.
