FTP Joint partnering event 2014 for Horizon 2020 and Cost Actions for the Forest-Based sector in the bioeconomy
The objective of the event is to offer the latest information on Horizon 2020 Calls published as drafts on December 11, 2013, with deadlines for submission in late 2014 and 2015. Focus of the event will be on selected topics FTP believes to be of most relevance to the forest-based sector:

A unique opportunity to meet suitable partners for your projects
Participants will be given the opportunity to present their project ideas or institutional research capacities, as well as to give feedback, support, and supplement each other’s ideas. Such events are often starting points for building consortia and core planning teams in order to submit research and innovation proposals at a later stage. Additionally, participants are invited to present and discuss ideas and proposals for COST Actions. This year's event will explicitly address invitations to industry and stakeholders from other sectors.
Who should participate?
All forest, forestry and forest-based sector related researchers from European Union Member States, Associated countries (Norway, Iceland, Israel etc.) and from third countries (Switzerland, Montenegro, Albania etc.) as they can fully participate in Horizon 2020 projects and the COST Programme.

The activities, competences and interest can range from forest ecology, climate change and forest management to forest-based products and forest-based industry processes including the timber industry, building with wood, the pulp and paper industry and biorefinery.
Invitations will be sent at the beginning of September and registration will open on 9 September 2014.
The PTS Paper & Board Symposium (September 6-7, 2016 at Leonardo Royal Hotel in Munich) will be one of the highlights among the events offered to paper producers and converters this autumn. The paper industry is in a period of transition. This makes it particularly important to keep abreast of the sector’s latest developments and innovations.
Our sector is faced with a multitude of different challenges and tasks: The Internet of Things is changing the whole face of our value chain and the future of paper both as consumer good and material needs to be redefined. We are all directly affected by these developments, and need to act to innovatively shape our sector’s future.

The PTS Paper & Board Symposium 2016 will be supported by partners from the trade associations of paper and board producers and converters VDP, HPV and WPV, as well as by the supplier companies represented by the Paper Technology Research Association (FPT).
