CEPI in brief:
CEPI celebrates its 20th anniversary
This year marks the 20th anniversary of CEPI's existence. In 1992 the Confederation of European Paper Industries was formed through a merge of CEPAC and EPI. Ever since, CEPI has been championing this industry’s achievements and the benefits of its products.
On this occasion, special celebrations are taking place throughout the whole year. Here are the ways with which CEPI has decided to commemorate this special anniversary:
20th anniversary logo
An especially designed logo based on the CEPI logo which will be used on all our publications this year.
Celebrating 20 years at DRUPA
Taking the opportunity to address printing and paper converting experts at Drupa, CEPI presented the 2050 Roadmap with a presentation by Director General Teresa Presas, followed up by a toast to celebrate CEPI's 20th anniversary.
Paper art exhibition at CEPI offices and the European Commission
In collaboration with IAPMA (International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists), CEPI is currently hosting a paper art exhibition. A variety of paper art from traditional to experimental: paper installations and objects, three dimensional paper artworks, pulp painting, paper jewellery, collage, assemblage and other artwork is decorating our offices for a month. The opening exhibition/vernissage took place on the 19th of September.
The exhibition is currently being hosted at the European Commission’s Breydel building on Avenue d’Auderghem 45. In the lobby you can see some of the pieces of the exhibition.
20th anniversary booklet
A special publication for a special anniversary, this booklet presents CEPI's evolution throughout the years. It contains contributions by former Director Generals, past photos and articles tracing CEPI's journey so far and was launched during European Paper Week 2012.
CEPI organised a photo competition under the theme 'Paper moments'. The competition was very successful and attracted high-quality photos with different interpretations of the theme. 300 people from more than 10 European countries participated in the competition and together they submitted almost 550 photos. The winning photo came from Romania and is entitled: 'I have a dream'. You can view all the submitted photos here.
European Paper Week 2012
This year's European Paper Week included special surprises for our 20th anniversary, including a video for our 20th anniversary, the awards ceremony of our photo competition and the launch of the 20th anniversary booklet.
